Here are some useful reminders
to keep in mind during your stay in Hong Kong.
Octopus
Card Most public transport requires exact change. Octopus card is an electronic stored-value card, just like money and is accepted for most public transport. We recommend DIY itinerary visitor having at least HK$200 on the card and any unspent value in On-loan Octopus is refundable along with the $50 deposit (minus $7 handling fee). You can also opt for a non-returnable Sold Octopus.
Tips for Catching Your Connecting Flight
Leave yourself enough time to get
back to the Hong Kong International Airport and proceed to Departure
Level 7. Go through the immigration and security screening and then
proceed to the departure gate at least 30 minutes before departure
time.

Departure Tax
The HK$120 Air Passenger Departure Tax is waived for transit passengers departing Hong Kong on the same day (before midnight) of their arrival.
