Horseracing
has been an integral part of Hong Kong life, and one of
the city's most popular spectator sports since the first
race was run here in 1846. Join the excitement of the
crowds cheering as the horses thunder down the stretch.
From September to early July, horseracing takes place
Wednesday evening and Saturday or Sunday at the Sha Tin
or Happy Valley racecourses. Click here
for racing fixtures.
There are three easy ways to enjoy the thrill of the
track. Mix with the locals and take in the buzz of the
crowd
with the HK$10 general admission to
the public stands. Or take advantage of the Hong Kong
Jockey
Club's Tourist
Badge (HK$100 for normal race days
and HK$150 for major race days) that provides access
to the
club's exclusive Members' Enclosure and customer
relations
officers who guide you through the betting formats and
provide basic racing information. Please bring your
passport with you when purchasing a Tourist Badge.
To make the most
of your day at the track, join a fabulous Come
Horseracing Tour
that includes transport to and from the racecourse.
Please note that entry to the racecourses is restricted
to adults 18 and older. Dress code for the Members' Enclosure
is smart casual, no sleeveless shirts, shorts, flip-flops,
etc allowed. |
