The Hong
Kong International Airport is located at Chek Lap Kok, and it's
connected to Hong Kong's largest island, Lantau Island by expressway.
It is an easy getaway to tour the island - renowned for the
Giant buddha statue.
A tour bus
takes you past the two-kilometre long, white sands of Cheung
Sha Beach
and over the Shek Pik Reservoir dam. Visit the
Tanka boat people's stilt-house fishing village at Tai O, then
ride up to a 520-metre plateau to visit the famous Po Lin Monastery
and view the world's tallest seated, outdoor bronze Buddha.
The tour includes a vegetarian lunch prepared by the monks at
the monastery.
The tours picks
up and ends at the airport hotel. It finishes at about 3:30pm-4pm,
leaving you time for evening flight connection out of Hong Kong.
